Flickinger Center of the Performing Arts 1110 New York Ave
Gerard Gibbs, the newly appointed Executive Director of the Flickinger Center is a seasoned arts administrator and musician, Gibbs brings a bold vision for expanding programming, deepening community engagement, and securing Alamogordo’s place on the state’s cultural map. The Flickinger Center already hosts over 40,000 guests annually, offering a mix of national touring acts and local productions. This summer’s lineup includes Yesterday: A Tribute to The Beatles, A Brothers Revival, and comedian William Lee Martin. The Center also partners with Children’s Music Theater of Alamogordo, nurturing young talent through productions like Lion King Jr. and The Wizard of Oz.
Otero Art Space 1118 Indiana at 12th Street
Housed in the historic restored Woman’s Club building, Otero Arts Inc. is a nonprofit arts hub offering exhibitions, performances, and workshops for all ages. Its ever changing programming includes:
- A Veteran Arts Showcase with readings, concerts, and expressive arts workshops
- Rebel Music Theater’s Broadway Reviews
- Free monthly exhibitions featuring regional artists
- All-ages workshops in sandpainting, collage, and acrylic pour
- Film screenings and more

White Sands Theater
Just steps from the Flickinger, the historic The White Sands Theater is undergoing a $1 million plus restoration enhanced with a LEDA grant from the City of Alamogordo. Originally opened in 1937, the venue is being reimagined as a flexible space for indie films, community events, esports tournaments and gaming nights, watch parties for everything from anime to cult classics and more. Built on history. Revived by fandom. Powered by passion. Its location within the proposed Arts & Cultural District makes it a key player in Alamogordo’s downtown renaissance.

Artist Rene Sepulveda’s carefully constructed sculptures and art installations are abstract interpretative works that rely heavily on the influence of nature for texture and symmetry, for rural to urban spaces. One art critic recently said of his works that they are “incisive meditations of colorishish designs, shapes and composition complimenting natures wonders using lava rocks, tree roots, tree trunks, bark, cholla desert cactus as components of his canvas.” By appointment only
